This research is about the effects of performance demands on students‟ morals in formal education in Masaka municipality secondary schools. Formal education is supposed to groom morally upright students to fit the communities they belong to. Unfortunately the learned population and the students of the current system despise and demean or they are uncomfortable with it. The objectives of this research were; to identify the performance demands that affect the students‟ morals in formal education, establish who sets the performance demands in formal education, and find out the actual effects of the performance demands in formal education. These objectives were achieved by assessing some of the activities involved in the learning process. The researcher used a case study design which was majorly qualitative with some elements of a quantitative approach. The researcher administered questionnaires that were used to collect data from 83 respondents which were supplemented by information from two focus group discussions together with two key informants. The results of the study showed that the performance demands in formal education had had an adverse effect on the students‟ morals. Despite this fact, some students seem to be benefiting and find formal education and its demands the only answer to the problem Masaka municipality secondary schools face. According to the information gathered from the field, formal education has played a big part in destroying morals of the students. Formal education should be contextualised to solve Masaka municipality needs. Solutions and remedies to rectify the impeding destruction of the African societal morals amongst the secondary school students were given.
