This paper discusses the external and internal factors hindering holistic and sustainable socioeconomic development in Africa. The factors are identified as: 1) marginalization engineered by manipulation of market forces, transnational corporations, the globalization stream, the debt trap and the ‘consumption syndrome’; and 2) internal cracks within Africa’s political and economic systems exemplified by the aspects of bad governance on the continent. Therefore, the paper advocates for a revolution by Africa against the north as well as an internal revolt against her own tendency to self-destruct.en_US
